On 22–23 October 2026, the QUEERSHIP team met at the Faculty of Sociology, University of Warsaw (Karowa 18) for two days of joint work.
The first day was devoted to the first drafts of our country reports, prepared within Work Package 1. The reports look at how LGBTIQ* families are presented in laws, public policies and the media in Poland, Hungary, Czechia and Croatia, and what challenges they face in each country. We went through the reports one by one, compared them to see what they have in common and where they differ, and agreed on revisions and deadlines. In the afternoon, we worked on a shared coding book and guidelines that will help us analyse our material in a consistent way across all four countries, and planned a test to check how consistently we code.
The second day was more hands-on. We got to know MAXQDA, the software we will use to analyse our data, and tried it out in a joint coding exercise, which also served as the first round of our consistency test. The results gave us useful feedback for refining the coding book and guidelines. We then discussed our publication plans and closed the meeting with a summary of decisions, responsibilities and next steps.
We would like to thank everyone for two inspiring and productive days!
